Getting Home!

  • You can get to the airport by taxi, MTR or airport bus.  The airport bus is by far the cheapest option, especially if you are a family but it depends on where you are staying.  The Novotel Nathan Road had a bus stop at the front door.
  • If you are going back to the airport using the airport express train service then you can put your luggage in hours before you are leaving.  Then you won't have to worry about your luggage while you do your last shop!  Sometimes they will let you all work together with weight.  We always over fill our bags by a few kilos and then if the airlines say something take it out and put it in your on board roller bag. Of course, if you are travelling with a family then use all your weight between the four of you. If you are way over, and the aiport wants to charge you, then post it home through Hong Kong postal service as it is much cheaper than airline costs.
  • DON'T FORGET to put all your liquid, perfumes moisturizers over 100ml into your luggage that goes under.  They WILL take it off you.
  • DON'T FORGET to hand in your Octopus card BEFORE you enter the departure lounge to get your deposit back or cheap them for your next trip as they are valid for 3 years I think.  I have used mine 12 months and more apart with no problem.
